This section describes my theory in hitting. We have been all been told
by our little league coaches to swing level. Well that works great as
long as the path of the ball is level.
Shown here is the path of a pitch that rises. The grey plane is the
plane that the bat makes as it is swung and the red line is the path of the
ball. In the first diagram is a swing that is parrel to the ground. The
brown area is were the plane intercests the path of the ball (ie. the amount
of chance to hit the ball).
The second diagram, shows a swing that matchs the ball. As you can see
there is a longer area for the ball to be hit, hench a better chance to hit
the ball. When you first start swinging like this is feels strange, but
trust me it works.
This is the same idea for a sinking pitch. It you want to hit homeruns
jump on this.
